The Sentinel repeats what Dr. Phil claims: that this is the first interview of Alicia Martin. It isn't, however. I follow the case closely (although not as close as some of you), but I was surprised to hear of a stepmom who helped raise Trayvon for 15 years.

I'm not a mod, but Jeralyn has discussed similar subjects. I'm thinking the facts asserted in the interview are up for discussion as long as it isn't speculation as fact, a character attack on a party that's being promoted or comments likely to devolve into character attacks. That's been the past guidance at least.

Why must you always rile such intense emotions? Alicia Martin was 240 mi away on the evening of Feb 26th W-6 reported events as they transpired in his backyard 6 feet from his porch. Why would you insinuate that he is lying?

Tracy and Alicia were married in 2005.  She previously told the media they split up a few weeks before Trayvon died. Tracy Martin filed for divorce on 8/9/12. They have no children together.

I doubt she will be called as a witness since she has no first-hand information about the shooting.

It seems that the defense is intent on exploring all possible sources of information about Trayvon Martin's background that might be relevant to the case. Alicia might even have video/audio that includes Trayvon's elusive voice.
