State's 12th Supplemental Discovery
« on: March 13, 2013, 03:10:19 PM »
GZLegalCase posts the 12th discovery supplement.

(H/T to DiwataMan who has a posting about it on his blog.)

I haven't looked at it closely, but it doesn't appear too interesting. Just information about how they got the pattern code to unlock the phone. The phone binary dump was apparently part of the discovery, but isn't posted. It'd probably take a lot of expertise to interpret it, anyway.

I got a 404 Code.  Page not found.  It isn't listed on GZ Legal either.

The link goes to a page on on GzLegalCase, so it's probably just another example of that site's flakiness.

I tried it again myself and got that same error. It worked earlier.

I scanned the first page and saw 'McDonald's report'. For a moment I thought they had gotten some information on Trayvon and Stephen getting food at McDonald's the night before.

One interesting item is in fdle_documents.pdf. It concerns Crump's recorder: "At that time 12 separate audio files were copied onto a computer disk from the recorder." That sounds like the files were digitally transferred. As far as I'm aware, there's no way to transfer audio files from that model of recorder except by playing them and rerecording.

Following links from DiwataMan's post, I learn that FDLE Special Agent John McDonald met with Mr. Crump and collected his recorder, on 12/6/12 (FDLE Documents, p. 3).

I wonder if the documents are stored on a different server than the gzlegal case site. I've been thinking O'Mara must turn the server storing the documents off at night since I never have a problem accessing his document links during the day, just at night. You can save them to your own computer for later reference, so you don't have to depend on his servers.
