H-13 is a woman.

She gets news from local TV.

She recalls seeing some coverage soon after it happened.

She heard there was a shooting in Sanford. She didn't follow until people started coming in with protests.

She has heard names of GZ and TM. She heard it was in an apartment or condo complex.

She heard GZ with a 911 call.

H-13 wonders why GZ had a gun if he was NW, and if the neighborhood authorized it.

She has not formed an opinion of guilt/innocence.

She heard GZ's '911 call' several times in the early days.

She recalls recent court hearings were about who who was calling for help. She did not come to any conclusions. She heard their were cries. for help as part of pre-trial coverage.

She understand she cannot consider what she heard outside the courtroom. She has no issues with that.

She recalls seeing photos of TM. Mostly head shots. They formed not impression in her mind.

She doesn't watch news every day at six, often isn't home by then. She sometimes watches it at 11.

She doesn't do any social media.

She doesn't remember anything else about recent court hearings.

H-13 recalls demonstrations became very high profile and there were many of them. High profile politicians came.

She didn't participate.

She found the protests unsettling. She feared there would be riots.

As far as she knows they were all peaceful.

She lived through 60s race riots.

The protests made her uncomfortable, she wished they didn't happen, people would get along and there would be such racial division.

H-13 wouldn't hold the protests against the state or GZ.

She didn't think protests were only reason GZ was prosecuted.

She can disregard protests entirely.

Bernie says she mentioned Rodney King (I missed that).

H-13 understands that RK case is unrelated to this case.

H-13 would tell a curious person there a fight, some kind of altercation, between TM and GZ.

She had minimal discussion with friends, some discussion with family.

Her friends and co-workers expressed opinions, which didn't influence her.

She has 4 grandsons, 3 of them teenagers. She lives with her daughter and some of the boys. She talks to them about safety, tells them to run for home if they feel threatened.

Bernie spoke to man behind him and Guy (Mantei?)

H-13 doesn't like mass protesting in general. It's unsettling and scary to her.

West up.

West said calling people by number reminds him of 'Get Smart' TV show.

H-13 says her being unsettled by protests is general, in no way specific to this case.

She have never been to a protest, wouldn't have gone to one no matter how she felt about the cause.

She doesn't know anyone who attended a rally or signed a petition.

3 of the grandsons live with her and daughter, 2 teenagers and 1 6yo.

H-13 didn't talk to her grandsons about any racial aspect of the case. She doesn't know if there is any racial aspects. She know protests based on claims there was a racial aspect.

She doesn't know if GZ racially profiled TM.

West asked if she had info suggesting that he did. She repeated she didn't know, said she didn't know if GZ knew TM was black.

She doesn't know anything to suggest it is a civil rights case.

She thinks news said there were hundreds of protesters.

She thinks they were big demonstrations.

She recalls Sharpton and Jackson as participating in protests.

She believe S and J think GZ 'shot an innocent young man'.

She doesn't know much about Sharpton and Jackson. She has seen them often over years. She doesn't pay enough attention to politics to know their positions.

She is not concerned about possible violence, but she would speculate there may be some.

She is equivocating on whether she thinks there might be violence.

She isn't concerned about her safety. She hasn't heard of jurors being attacked.

West is probing whether she is concerned about consequences of an acquittal. I think her answers are vague, not responsive.

Bernie, West, and Nelson had a discussion I didn't follow.

West talking to consultant.

Back to H-13.

She thinks GZ approached TM.

West asked when that happened in the sequence of events. Her answer wasn't responsive to that. She said she thought the reason he approached was to find out what TM was doing.

She thinks GZ might have called to TM instead of approaching him.

She knows had some point there must have been an altercation between GZ and TM.

She thinks GZ called 911 near the beginning of the incident. She has heard the call, hasn't formed any impressions about the incident from the call.

She has heard GZ was told not to follow. She thinks GZ followed TM after he was told not to. She thinks that he did because she doesn't know what happened after that. (That's what she said.)

She's explaining her thinking. Not making sense to me.

She doesn't necessarily think GZ did something wrong.

He did do something wrong if he disobeyed a police officer.

She remembers GZ said TM might be on drugs, he was told he didn't need to follow.

She is aware of a call in which screams for help can be heard. She doesn't know who made that call. She doesn't know if it was concluded who was screaming.

West asked if she heard the call with the screams. Again her answer doesn't make sense, seems to be to a different question.

She has heard the screams. She hasn't formed any impression of who it was. She didn't watch court proceedings about the call.

She mostly watches Channel 9 for news. On weekends she sometimes watches Channel 5 news.

She believes there were a couple of voice experts how had different opinions. Doesn't recall who the experts are.

She thinks there were 2 experts she heard, and they disagreed. She doesn't know what they disagreed on.

She doesn't recall what they said because she didn't take them seriously. She is often distracted when watching the news, thinking about work and bills.

By not taking it seriously she meant she wasn't studying what was said.

H-13 says one of the experts might have said there was some confusion and he couldn't identify.

She believes she heard one expert say the voice was TM and one said it was GZ.

She didn't pay close enough attention to have an opinion on how qualified the experts are.

Bernie objected, asked and answered, to a question I missed. I couldn't hear Nelson's ruling.

She thinks her daughter's views are like hers. They don't know.

The shooting caused her and her daughter to be concerned about their boys. She tells them not to be flip, and something similar that I forgot. She talked about hoodies, the boys wearing hoodies. I think she was saying something about wondering if people could tell from a distance that they were white.

While I was typing,  West asked a question Bernie objected to. Nelson said West was getting too far off track, something like that.

She has a question whether GZ racially profiled TM.

She believes TM was 17 at time of shooting.

She didn't read about the case in the Orlando Sentinel until last week, when she glanced at a story about jury selection. That was after she was summoned, before she realized it was for this case./

She hasn't had discussion about the case at church or any social organizations.

She has another child in Georgia, and other relatives elsewhere. None of them have asked her about the case.

H-13 doesn't know that could she be open to being told that GZ didn't follow after he was told not to, because she thinks everything happened after the call. She might be open if she is wrong about that timeline.

Her understanding is GZ was actively patrolling at the time.

She never thought about whether GZ had violated a policy or procedure.

West asked if she thought GZ did wrong by carrying gun. Bernie objected, asked and answered. Sustained.

She believes she heard GZ carried legally. Doesn't recall ever hearing otherwise, so she didn't give it any more thought.

Bernie objects again. West asks for sidebar. Granted.

Sidebar done.

West is at podium, asks H-13 to wait while he looks at post-its.

H-13 doesn't recall hearing any comments that GZ carrying gun was illegal or wrong.

She works in an office setting.

She thinks some of her co-workers have changed their opinions over time, some haven't.

3 co-workers are black. They were convinced from beginning it was racial profiling.

Other co-workers think it wasn't racial profiling. Some say GZ might be innocent, we don't know what happened.

Her youngest grandson is bi-racial.

At work she would walk away from those conversations.
