I-5 doesn't have an opinion if it was self-defense. Self-defense was the way it was presented in the media.

I-5 is talking about how the media talked about self-defense law. I don't understand what he is trying to say.

I-5 heard some commentary on HLN.

He can agree that the commentary remains outside the courtroom.

He would tell someone who asked about the case, there was a scuffle, and someone was dead.

I-5 doesn't know where in Sanford it happened.

He knows TM's name.

He doesn't know anything about GZ.

Bernie asking about hardship.

I-5 says it won't be insurmountable. He hasn't talked to his employer about it. He has many responsibilities at work. He can't do it on short notice. They can plan for it, he thinks.

West up.

I-5 says his wife decides what to watch when they watch together. She watches local news, normally on FOX. I-5 on his own rarely watches local news.

I-5 has heard a press conferences involving Martin family attorneys.

He thinks the press conference was when the case was being prepared for trial. He didn't hear anything he thought significant. It was last March or April. It wasn't in front of courthouse or on street. He thinks it was indoors.

He doesn't recall any press conferences with defense attorneys. His wife hasn't mentioned any such.

He doesn't know how interested his wife is in the case. He thinks no more than he, because if she were she would talk more about it.

He thinks some stations had slant on Casey Anthony case. I think he said, again, that 'some' means HLN.

None of his family have talked about the case. His family is large. When they get together they talk about family.

I-5 thinks he heard his family was from Miami, he was in Sanford with his father. He hasn't heard anything about GZ.

He knows the encounter was in a complex.

He thinks GZ lived in complex, was NW.

He doesn't recall any detail about what led up to shooting.

I-5 says marches are always emotional, because people feel they have been wronged. He recalls marches from his childhood.

I-5 hasn't attended an event in which J. Jackson or A. Sharpton was present, or any event connected with case.

He thought the marches weren't appropriate, having national black leaders in Sanford wasn't necessary at that time. It could become racially charge, because there was no reason for them to be there at that time.

It hasn't been proved that there was a racial component to the shooting.

I-5 has been talking about the controversy over GZ not being arrested. I can't make sense of what he has been saying.

I-5 doesn't necessarily think SPD had to have done something wrong because Attorney General got involved.

There is nothing to make him think it's a civil rights case.

He doesn't think he has wondered if GZ would have been arrested if he were black. He doesn't think that way.

12:06 PM, West done with I-5.

Your comments captured the essence of West's examination as well. I-5 states he doesn't like to think like that when asked if race was a factor in the Martin shooting. I-5 felt like the demonstrations were unnecessary at that time and that the protesters didn't have the same information that the police had. I-5 draws a distinction between the protests of the early civil rights era and this one.
