11:12 AM

Back from a recess after Dr. Nakasone.

Bernie submitted a proposed jury instruction, something about redacted versions of GZ interviews, including Hannity. Only redacted versions, some audio an some transcripts, will be in evidence. O'Mara said no objection.

Jury coming back.

11:14 AM

State calls  SPD Investigator Doris Singleton.

Recess for lunch, 12:31 PM to 1:30 PM.

I don't know if Bernie had finished his direct of Singleton. They were on the written statement. I don't know if Singleton finished reading it aloud. They may plan to put Serino on before they play the 2/29/12 interview. Or, they may be going to take Singleton through all the interviews she participated in. That would include the reenactment, maybe part of the hand-holding session before the CVSA, and then 2/29. In that case she may be up there all day for direct, and come back tomorrow for cross.

Until now the prosecution's order of witnesses has been thematic and roughly chronological. Today's order, Nakasone and then Singleton, feels to me like a break in that. My guess is that they had to adapt to Nakasone's schedule. If that's correct, Singleton may be introducing a streak of witnesses impeaching GZ's statements. I'm thinking the family voice ID is being saved for last, and Sybrina to be the last state witness.

O'Mara started crossing Investigator Doris Singleton about 1:46 PM.

That's one wrong guess for me.

5:58 PM

Jury dismissed for the day.

Nelson admonished Chris Serino as a witness, asked the attorneys if there was any other business before recessing for the day. 'No' from both parties.

5:59 PM

Court recessed for the day.

As the day's testimony drew to a close, Serino and O'Mara were getting close to exploring the last Serino/Singleton interview of Zimmerman on 2/29/12.  Here is were they expressed their greatest skepticism of Zimmerman's story.  I suppose O'Mara wouldn't have gone here unless he knew that Serino will say that the skepticism wasn't serious.  Very strange day as far as which lawyer brought out which facts.

I never believed it was serious, always thought it was tactics. It was interesting to hear O'Mara laying them out in detail, and the back and forth between him and Serino.

Is Corey still in court? I didn't see her, but I was mostly listening, not watching.

Some might want a bit more explanation. CS is coming back tomorrow. Nelson reminded him that when he returned his oath would still be in effect, and told him not to discuss his testimony with anyone. There may have been some other stuff. It's routine business and I wasn't paying much attention.

I did some watching while the recordings were playing. I recall seeing Tracy and Sybrina a few times. I didn't see Corey. I wasn't watching for her, but in the past I've noticed when she was there.

I've read that Monday was the first day she skipped, but I don't know that for sure, I didn't see her in court on other days but I wasn't looking that much either.

Just seems odd to me, the media is building stories of the case falling apart and she picks then to hide.
