DR: He held training and supervisory positions at a boot camp for juvenile offenders.

ETA: DR has been describing a long and varied LE career. I mentioned the boot camp because it struck me as interesting.

DR: He has served 6 times as an expert witness on use of force for a grand jury.

DR: He contacted O'Mara, after media aroused his interest in the case. He would need to review the evidence before deciding if his input would be of value.

DR: Background of persons involved was information he thought important for his review.

O'Mara questioning DR on details of what evidence was included in his review. DR believed he got 'everything'.

DR: Defense gave him everything he asked them for.

The Florida Lawyer Twitter Mafia hate him as a witness. I don't really understand why--at least if I'm following the breadcrumbs O'Mara is laying out, I think he's going to be good once he gets on point and off his life story (which is interesting, I think).

Reminds me of an expression a friend who's in the air force once told me: If you're getting a lot of flak it probably means that you're right over the target.

DR talks about interviews, says that the initial interview is the most important one, says he pays the most attention to those rather than subsequent interviews.

DR talks about conflicting statements, says to look at small differences within context to try to resolve them, the difference may be based on that particular person's perspectives.

DR is talking about how stressful events affect memory formation. I think this witness will be used to explain difficulties in GZ's statements.

O'Mara is starting on Surdyka.

Guy objects, commenting on another witness.

O'Mara said for explanation, not impeachment. Nelson said she would see where he was going. On his next question Guy objected again.

Sidebar.

It appears O'Mara won the objection, he continued with his question as to the "pop pop pop".

Reverberations! Hey Ricky! Echoes! ;D
